4Nice but messy, no standing mechanism  Aug 05, 2009
These are fairly attractive, and once set up you'll feel you got a great deal.

However, no standing mechanism whatsoever is provided. You'll need to find a large chunk of foam to stab the trunk into or the like. The last artificial trees I purchased included a plastic base to help keep each tree upright when put in a pot. Lacking that, the seller could score some points back by including setup guidelines in the box. There's probably something cheaper than these $10 foam blocks.

The tree is also wrapped in some kind of shredded plat, and it spills a *lot* of dust and small fibers. I'd strongly recommend setting each tree up outdoors. Bringing each in only after shaking it off well.

Also, while it didn't affect my rating of these trees, be careful of the pots Amazon may recommend with this purchase. The 20" pots that are currently recommended are comically oversized for these trees.
